One of the “successes” that came out of President Biden’s meeting with Chinese leaders was a promise from the Chinese to cut back or stop aiding and abetting the fentanyl shipments to the U.S. How we could ever verify that the Chinese actually will do that remains a mystery. But we shouldn’t really blame the Chinese for this plague. We should blame ourselves. If there were no market for the deadly drug, if there were no demand in the U.S. for such substances, it wouldn’t matter who made the stuff. Bu if the Chinese don’t make it, someone else will. That’s just a fact. And the U.S. has never been able to stop any illicit substances from coming over our borders.
K-12 student achievement in the United States ranks somewhere around 26th in the world. In one year in Baltimore, where the city runs the thirteen high schools, not a single graduate was proficient in math. In New York City, where they were embarrassed by the low graduation rates, they lowered the requirements to graduate. And finally, the entire state of Oregon abandoned the essential skills tests that students once had to pass to graduate. Not surprisingly, the graduation rate jumped to 81.3 percent, the second highest graduation rate ever recorded in the state. However, only 43 percent of the graduating class was proficient in English, and less than 31 percent was proficient in math. Here’s my question: How could they not have 100 percent graduating if they didn’t have to learn anything?
Gavin Newsom, governor of California, traveled to Israel a couple of weeks ago for no apparent reason other than to get a photo op in the Holy Land. Then he flew to China to discuss climate change with Xi Jinping, head of the nation that is the world’s biggest polluter. Newsom promised “cooperation” between California and China. What? But here’s what I want to know: who is paying for those travel expenses? The citizens of California? It costs about $800 for one person to fly to Israel, and from $500 to $2,000 to fly to China. And I’m fairly certain Newsome didn’t fly there by himself. Who, besides the elite rulers of this country, get to do that?
California’s governor Gavin Newsom promised to replace the late U.S Sen. Diane Feinstein with a black woman, thereby following the woke credo that race and gender come before ability. U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff (sometimes known as “pencil neck”) is running to replace Feinstein in this fall’s election. Given all that, I really don’t believe there is any truth to the rumor that Schiff, in order to get Newsom’s appointment, wanted to undergo transgender surgery and pigmentation treatments to become a black woman.
K-12 student performance in the U.S. is abysmal, especially in math. In one year, the 13 high schools in Baltimore graduated not a single student proficient in math. Recently, the city of New York addressed its low graduation rate by lowering the requirements needed to graduate. What is the result of lack of math education? Fiscal stupidity. Right now, Americans are carrying about $1 trillion in credit card debt with an average interest rate of 25 percent. So if you carry a credit card balance of $5,000, you are paying over a year’s time $1,250 in interest charges for which you get nothing. And right now, the United States government is paying $1 trillion in interest payments on its debt, for which it gets nothing. How many problems in this country could be solved if we had annually an extra $1 trillion?
Several Democrat prosecutors and state attorneys general are proposing that Donald Trump be prosecuted under the 14th Amendment, which is rather ironic (I’ll tell you why in a moment). The 14th Amendment says in part: “No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens.” The Democrats believe this section applies to anyone questioning the outcome of the 2020 election. and therefore voiding the votes of those people who voted for an old idiot. The irony is that not a single Democrat voted for the 14th Amendment, nor, by the way, for the 15th Amendment, guaranteed all citizens the right to vote.
The next time President Biden or one of his lackeys tells you that you need to start wearing masks, just remember what he did today. He enters a room, wearing a mask, takes the mask off, gets ten inches away from a Medal of Honor recipient, pins the medal on his chest, then wanders out of the room. The only conclusion can be that Medal of Honor recipients are immune to Covid transmission. Or … that yet another Covid fraud is about to be perpetrated on the American public.
I hesitate to enter the abortion debate, but this annoys me. When almost anybody of any political stripe addresses the issue, they say abortion should be permitted in cases of incest or rape. Why? It’s not the child’s fault if that was the way he or she was conceived. It’s like punishing the victim of a crime rather than the perpetrator.
President Biden, for the first time, acknowledged his seventh grandchild four years after the child was born. One must conclude it took Joe four years to process the news.
A Protection Racket: Only two members of Congress voted against a resolution honoring the 556 police officers who died in the line of duty in 2022. They were Cori Bush, D-Missouri, and Rashida Tlaib, D-Michigan. Not that those two don’t want protection from bad guys. Cori Bush has spent over $500,000 from her campaign funds for private security, much of which goes to her husband. Tlaib spent $12,500 in one year from her campaign funds for private security. Which leads me to ask, “Why donate to congressional candidates if this is how they spend that money?”
Holding the Bag: After 11 day of vigorous investigation, the Secret Service closed the case on who might have left a bag of cocaine in the White House. They had over 500 suspects, including Hunter Biden. Among the hundreds of suspects not interviewed by the Secret Service was … Hunter Biden. In my opinion, the Secret Service should have turned the case over to the FBI. It would have taken the FBI four years to do the same thing the Secret Service did: nothing.
The Staff of Life: If Joe Biden is failing as President (and he is), it’s not because he doesn’t have the staff necessary to succeed. He has the largest presidential staff in American history, 524 people costing you and me $52.7 million. And that doesn’t count Jill Biden’s staff of twenty, second only to Michelle Obama’s 24. By comparison, Donald Trump had a staff of 416, and Melania Trump’s staff ran from six to ten people. Oh, and Joe Biden’s staff doesn’t stick around long. The turnover rate is 46 percent.
It’s About Time: Environmental writer Clare Watson, apparently trying to further alarm us, wrote about a NASA project illustrating how much the seas have risen “in three short decades.” Sigh. I guess it would have been contrary to her narrative if the seas had risen that much during three long decades.
Contributions vs. Taxes: I just made a contribution to the NRA because that organization tries to protect gun owners like me from the government, which doesn’t seem to understand the meaning of the word “infringe.” Isn’t that an interesting juxtaposition? I have to depend on a private organization that is doing what the government should be doing, and that is protecting and defending my rights under the Constitution.
Do As I Didn’t Do: This can’t be said enough, because the press simply ignores it. The Democrats controlled both houses of Congress and the presidency for two years. Therefore when some Democrat politicians, like Denver Mayor Michael Hancock and Gov. Jared Polis make statements like this when they addressed the immigrant surge into Denver, “We appreciate the complexity of the challenge, particularly in the face of intransigence on the part of the Republican Congressional leadership … to fix a broken immigration system,” good reporters should immediately ask, “Well, why didn’t you guys do anything about it when you were in power?” What mayors of Hancock’s ilk did do was declare their cities to be sanctuary cities. Now they’re screaming at Washington for money to deal with a situation they created. “You reap what you sow,” comes to mind.
This is a Riot: Another big headline saying a Jan. 6 rioter will go to jail for eight and a half years. He was referred to as a “raider.” The press has also called the Jan. 6 demonstrators “traitors” and “insurrectionists.” Here’s my question: when are we going to see headlines about convictions from the 570 other riots in 2020? Some 22 people killed, billions in property damage, an occupied federal courthouse in Portland attacked by arsonists. If I were on a Jan. 6 jury, I might convict those people of trespassing; nothing more. It really wasn’t that big a deal.
I Left my Hearth: A brief check on San Francisco, where anyone black enough can look forward to collecting collect $5 million and other perks for “reparations,” courtesy of the taxpayer. Well, the biggest taxpayers are leaving town. An office building that was valued at $300 million a decade ago recently sold for $60 million. And 30 percent of the office space in the city currently is vacant. San Francisco is run by Democrats, by the way.
They’ve Just Left: Envionmental activists are blasting U.S. Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, a Democrat, for introducing a bill that would allow the reopening of a copper mine in Arizona. This is interesting because copper is essential to the building of electric vehicles, which are supposed to save the planet. There is not enough copper in the whole world right now to build all those EVs. So the activists are trying to stop the production of the minerals they need to accomplish what they want. I guess sometimes the Left’s hand doesn’t know what the Left’s other hand is doing.
Born to Rules: Well, I was leaning toward supporting Ron DeSantis until today. You know, grand jury deliberations are supposed to be secret. Income tax records are not supposed to be made public. Grand jury forepersons are not supposed to give interviews about the proceedings to MSNBC. States attorneys are not supposed to bring charges for partisan political reasons. Persons suspected of having documents illegally in their possession should be treated the same. All this has gone out the window in the purely political persecutions of Donald Trump. Just because I believe in the 240-year-old principals of the United States of America, I am supporting Donald Trump all the way. Just remember, if the government can do this to a powerful, wealthy ex-president, the government can do this to you.
Rattle Their Cages: The only reasons I’ve heard for releasing wolves in western Colorado is that they used to be here and they’re good for the ecosystem. Using that logic, we should release timber rattlers in Central Park in New York City. After all, rattlers used to be there, and given the predominant species in New York, they’d be good for the ecosystem.
Give Me Your Unhealthy: Somebody who supports the Biden administration explain this: Four million migrants can come over the southern border with virtually no proof of vaccination or any Covid testing at all. Although Covid was sweeping through China just a month ago at such a rate that the whole country was shut down, Chinese citizens can now enter the U.S. without Covid testing. Novak Djokovic, the No. 1 tennis player in the world and probably one of healthiest individuals on the planet, cannot enter the U.S. because he refuses to take the Covid vaccine.
Type Cast: This is now the standard for employers and service providers: You cannot discriminate against or exclude people because of their race, color, national origin, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, ancestry, ethnicity, marital status, religion, or language. Which might explain how truck drivers who can’t speak English can get a CDL in Colorado.
What Goes Up: How to slant the news. CNN reported that the Lake Oroville reservoir in California fell to about 24 percent of its capacity due to a “climate change-fueled mega drought.” But thanks to a really wet winter, the reservoir has nearly filled up again. Why? CNN seems to know positively why it went down, but not why it came back up again. That’s kind of like explaining precisely how a ball goes up in the air, but not having any idea why it comes back down.
Power Rankings: Another ringing non-endorsement for electric vehicles. A couple, including a journalist, decided to take a 1,500 mile road trip in their Kia EV. Kia advertised the car’s range on one battery charge at 274 miles. On the 1,500-mile trip, the couple had to recharge the car 12 times, which works out to a practical range of 125 miles. Charging the car took from 20 to 55 minutes each time. I would be ready to drive the car into the sea after that trip.
Know Your Target: It now appears that the U.S. used a $206 million F-22 Raptor and $400,000 sidewinder missile to shoot down a balloon sent up by a kids’ club in northern Illinois. President Biden said in a national speech Thursday that the military didn’t know what they were shooting at. Moral of the story: don’t let Joe Biden hunt on your land. He shoots without knowing what he’s shooting at.
A Taxing Situation: Anyone who does their own taxes and doesn’t support the elimination of the national income tax in favor of a national sales tax (no forms) is insane.
Misfire: How embarrassing is this? You’re flying a $206 million F-22 Raptor equipped with $400,000 sidewinder missiles, you’re shooting at an almost stationary balloon floating above Lake Huron, and you miss?
Corny: Apparently, our President and the armed forces thought for several days that the Chinese balloon was, as the Chinese Communist Party claimed, a weather balloon. Of course, they thought, think of all the thousands of Chinese people who need to know the current weather forecast in Iowa.
A Week Response: I’d like to compliment the Biden administration on their speedy reaction to the Chinese surveillance balloon that crossed the United States and Canada. It only required the administration ten days to think his one through. Wonder how long an American surveillance balloon would last crossing China?
A Taxing Situation: At a single hotel in New York City, the government is paying $650,000 per night (!) to house and feed migrants here illegally.
The Penalty Doesn’t Fit The Crime: Isn’t it odd that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was brought down not because he sent 9,000 elderly patients to their deaths during the pandemic, but because he groped six or seven employees and associates. Now President Biden is suffering another big drop in approval ratings not because he has allowed literally millions of illegal immigrants (along with drugs and human traffickers) into the U.S., but because he was careless with official papers. It’s a strange world we live in.
Taking It In The Earmark: Democrat Anastasia Ocasio Cortez voted against the $1.7 trillion Omnibus spending bill in the House, But in another glimpse of how Congress really works, she also added to the bill three earmarks for projects totaling $9.3 million. Earmarks are appropriations added to bills by individual members of Congress that go through no committee hearings, no floor vote, no legislative examination at all. The earmarks added by Cortez were three of about 7,300 added to the spending bill. She voted against because the bill didn’t allocate enough money to fight climate change. But she’ll take her money.
Many Unhappy Returns: One of the supposed guarantees all Americans have in life is the sanctity of their federal income tax returns. Dealing with the IRS is hard enough without the government making your personal finances public. Unless, of course, you are Congress. The Jan. 6 committee, which took six months to reach a conclusion already decided upon before the hearings began, went the extra mile and made public Donald Trump’s tax returns. I don’t know what you might learn from this travesty, but we should all learn that what can be done to one, can be done to all.
Wild Bill: This is now what passes for government in the U.S. At 2 a.m. today (12/20/22), U.S. senators were presented with a 4,155-page omnibus spending bill that they will be asked to vote on tomorrow. It will pass because all the deals and trades have been made, but not in the open. The Senate Finance Committee has not held one session on this issue. We the public know little about it, except little tidbits such as the bill will raise corporate taxes by $100 billion just as we are headed into a recession. And there are 7,000 earmarks included in the bill. Earmarks are special funding requests from individual members of Congress that go through no committee review, no floor debate, no scrutiny. If 41 senators vote no, the bill will fail, but I have absolutely no hope that will happen.
Tricks of the Trade: In a prisoner exchange, the Biden Administration just traded an international arms dealer with terrorist connections for Brittney Griner, a WNBA player who once said, “I honestly don’t think they should play the National Anthem during our season.” Griner served ten months of a nine-year sentence in Russia for drug possession. Meanwhile, Paul Whelan, an American businessman and former Marine, has been in a Russian prison since 2018 for allegedly being a spy, a charge both his family and the U.S. deny. Me, I’d have gone for a package deal to release both Americans for a convicted international criminal known as the Merchant of Death, but what do I know.
I’m not buying this: It’s working, folks. Those of us who are more than a little annoyed at China releasing a deadly disease across the world, at China continuing to steal intellectual property, at China telling NBA players what to say and not say, at China being the world’s largest polluter, at China persecuting religious minorities, (I could go on), are trying really hard to not buy “Made in China.” Well, guess what: U.S. manufacturing orders to China are down 40 percent. China to U.S. container ship volume is down 21 percent, August through November. Keep it up. We don’t need our government dealing with the China situation, because it won’t. The Bidens are compromised. American consumers can do it themselves. And, it seems, they are.
The Blame Game: A Democrat spokesperson on the radio this morning said it was up to Congress to fix the disaster at our southern border. It’s not Biden’s fault. It’s not the fault of Mayorkas. Congress should act, she said. Excuse me, but Democrats have controlled Congress for two years and have not advanced one bill to deal with the ongoing disaster at he border.
The Late News: More on main-stream-media’s embarrassing displays of bias and incompetence. CBS News just decided the Hunter Biden laptop story was legitimate … a mere two years after The New York Post broke the story, and months after The Washington Post and The New York Times came to the same conclusion. But they all participated in killing the story before the 2020 elections. Oh, and The Daily Beast just had to apologize to the Biden laptop repairman for wrongly saying the laptop was “stolen.” News organizations often do that when facing threat of a large lawsuit they believe they will lose.
C’mon, lay off: I hear “The View” and other “news” outlets were complaining about Elon Musk laying off thousands of workers at Twitter. But they don’t complain about layoffs at Disney, or Facebook cutting 13 percent of its workforce, or Hewlett Packard laying off 6,000 workers, or even their bosses at CNN laying off hundreds of staffers. Very selective bias on display here.
I like to post proof of not only media bias, but proof of the media trying to deliberately propagandize. Here’s an actual headline from the Associated Press after the mid-term elections: “Foreign Trip Becomes Victory Lap for Strengthened Biden.” Excuse me, but Biden lost the House, which means he won’t be able to implement his cockamany schemes like making Puerto Rico a state or stacking the Supreme Court. The only explanation for this is the AP thinks you’re stupid.
We learned a lot about Florida in the recent election. One, that Ron DeSantis is a rising star and probable presidential candidate. Two, even Democrat strongholds like Miami-Dade County can be enlightened. Third, one of the most populous states in the nation can count votes quickly and accurately. Might these other states that still haven’t added up their votes try to learn something from Florida?
The Washington Post waited until over 31 million Americans have voted to reveal that President Joe Biden lies a lot. A lot. The liberal-leaning newspaper awarded Biden a “bottomless” number of pinocchios (the paper’s fact-checking measurement) for his lies, including the incredible statement that “Gas was $5 a gallon when I took office.” It was actually $2.38 a gallon. If you haven’t voted yet, remember that Biden is the leader of the Democrat Party, which during the last two years has created record inflation, an invasion on our southern border, an economy that has shrunk, supply chain clogs, a disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, a flood of fentynal into the country, crime in the streets of our biggest cities, and on, and on, and on.
And so it begins; Colorado sent out 30,000 postcards to people who are ineligible to vote explaining to them how to register to vote. Many of the recipients of these instructions are in the country illegally. And in Pennsylvania, state election officials, circumventing a Supreme Court decision, have decided to count ballots that are missing information required by state law, such as a voter ID number or partial Social Security number. You know, no government official or clerk ever gets fired for this stuff.
Hey, it’s a job: Here’s why it took so long for Los Angeles city council members to resign after being recorded making derogative racial statements about a fellow council member. LA’s city council members are paid $207,000 per year plus expenses, the highest pay in the U.S. That’s somewhat more than Town Board members make here in my little town.
A billion here, a billion there: If you’re wondering why this administration seems to have no conception of how much things cost, you need look no further than the Chief Executive, Joe Biden, who recently said in response to a question on how much would be spent on a certain program, “somewhere between 700 billion and a trillion 300 million billion dollars.” And in a speech about new manufacturing incentives, he said, “Companies want to build that product — build that product, because it’s going — a billion trillion seven hundred million billion dollars. Meaning, literally, hundreds of thousands of new jobs. Not a joke. Not a joke.” The joke’s on us, folks.
With dressing on the side, please: If you’ve ever wanted to see a good example of a governmental word salad, here it is: “In partnership with Governor Polis, the Department of Natural Resources, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) is pleased to announce a request for proposals to assist in the collaborative development of a plan that establishes a vision, direction, and statewide metrics for climate-resilient, biodiversity supporting, community-driven conservation and recreation planning and management, that takes into consideration equitable outdoor access.” GOCO managed to touch all the politically correct bases without ever telling us what they want.
Bordering on stupid: I think it’s wonderful Vice-President Kamala Harris decided to visit the border, except it wasn’t our border with Mexico, it was South Korea’s border with North Korea. And during her remarks, she lauded the long-standing alliance between America and North Korea. Not a typo; she said North Korea. See, we don’t want to use the 25th Amendment to remove Joe Biden as President, because then we get Kamala Harris as President. And if we remove her, we get Nancy Pelosi. There’s no fiction writer out there who could have come up with this plot.
Stuck on you: I get return address stickers delivered to me from organizations I either support or who want my business. You do too, I’m sure. The stickers are free and last seemingly forever. I get stamps from the U.S. Postal Service , and the stickability of these stamps lasts about three weeks. After that, you have to use glue to stick them on envelopes. Sigh. Can’t the government learn anything from private industry?
Follow the scientists: You probably won’t hear this on the mainstream “news,” but more than 1,100 scientists from around the world have signed a letter declaring “There is no climate emergency.” The letter went on to say, “We simply state that all evidence so far indicates that the increase is CO2 and the increase in temperature are not harmful for us of for nature.” Thanks to the Epoch Times for reporting on this.
Really short rant: It would be easier and cheaper to adapt to climate change than to try and change the climate.
A degree of difficulty: I would think anyone who didn’t go to college because they couldn’t afford it, or who decided to go into the crafts and other professions to work their way up, or went to trade school, anyone who made a career in the military, anyone who went to college and paid their own way, or borrowed money and paid it back already, any of those people would not be a real big fan of Joe Biden and the Democrats right now, and rightfully so. My question is this: can the votes of enough Americans be bought through this and other programs to re-elect these fools?
Liz the Loser: Even before the primary election in Wyoming on Aug. 16, the liberal news media was talking about U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney as a really good candidate for President in 2024. It’s almost impossible to oust an incumbent member of Congress, but Cheney didn’t just lose her re-election bid; she got slaughtered. Her opponent got 113,025 votes (66.3 percent) to her 49,316 (28.9 percent). Somehow, that makes her, a Republican who couldn’t even carry her own massively Republican state, a viable candidate for President. Where do they find these “news” analysts?
Laugh line: I read that the White House said it didn’t have any knowledge of the Mar-a-Lago raids in advance. My response? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
A shot in the dark: I’m not an anti vaxxer. I’ve had two jabs. But President Biden has had two vaccinations and two boosters, and he’s got Covid. Twice. What are we to think?
A light poll: A recent poll says President Joe Biden’s approval rating has fallen to 39 percent. That can’t possibly be true. There is no possible way 39 percent of conscious Americans believe Biden is doing a good job.
Inflation advice: Well, I’ve figured out a way to avoid high gas prices. I don’t wait for the gauge to reach empty to stop at the gas station. I go when the gauge reaches half full, then it costs way less to fill up the tank.
A company run by twits: The boards of directors of public corporations have a fiduciary duty to protect the interests of the company’s shareholders. Twitter’s stock was trading for $46.92 per share. Elon Musk offered to buy out the company at $54 per share. The board of directors blocked the sale. So explain to me how the board is looking out for the shareholder.
So, where do we live? Congress just passed and sent to the President a $40 billion aid for Ukraine. The budget for U.S. Customs and Border Protection is $17.4 billion. The budget for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is $8.5 billion, for a total of $25.9 billion. What does that tell you? Congress and the President are willing to spend more for the protection of the borders of a foreign country than for our own country.
Unreasoning Americans: In a new ABC News/Ipsos poll, more than two-thirds of Americans blamed Putin (71%) and oil companies (68%) a “great deal” or a “good amount” for the increases in gas prices. So this poll (if you believe it) says a majority of Americans are stupid, ill-informed, or not alive when gas prices started to rise the first month of President Biden’s term.
Snake oil: President Biden announced he would start taking 1 million barrels a day out of the national petroleum reserve to bring down gas prices at the pump. So not only did his policies reduce the amount of oil America would have produced in the future, now he will reduce the supply of oil America produced in the past!
Lucky Joe: Two events have saved Joe Biden from being one of the most obscure and forgotten politicians in American history. One was the pandemic, which allowed him to hide in his basement, not campaign, and therefore conceal his cognitive decline. So there’s more than one reason Covid was bad for America. The other was the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, which is enabling the administration to blame Vladimir Putin for the terrible inflation of energy prices, which, by the way, started going up long before the Ukraine war started.
Europe again: Can’t we let Europe take care of its own problems for once? Outside of providing a cushy job for Hunter Biden, what has Ukraine ever done for America? It’s one of the most corrupt nations on Earth. It’s not a member of NATO. Is this fool of a President actually going to lead us into war over Ukraine?
Hey Colorado Front Rangers! You voted to reintroduce wolves into Colorado, but only on the Western Slope. Guess what. Wolves have been put back on the federal endangered species list, so when they cross the Divide into your neighborhoods, which they surely will, there won’t be anything you can do about them. You’ll be in the same position as us.
Lessons on hypocrisy. President Joe Biden, who now wants to abolish the filibuster so his own agenda will advance, and who wants to nominate a black woman to the Supreme Court, used the filibuster when he was a senator to block not once, but twice, the elevation of a black woman judge to the federal bench.
A two-hour “press” conference held by the president, and all these unbiased, objective, fair reporters managed not to ask one question about crime in our streets, or the hundreds of thousands of unvaxed, unvetted, illegal aliens pouring across our southern border.
So Nancy Pelosi and the Democrat majority in the House made a rule that every member had to wear a K-95 face mask when the House is in session. They handed them out today. Proudly displayed on the masks were the words, “Made in China.” Some of you out there are not convinced we are being governed by idiots and/or traitors. Wake up.
It seems like any time I need to talk to a company to do business nowadays, I have to first talk to some sort of artificial intelligence that runs interference for actual company employees, or a robot that runs through a series of questions that I have to answer by pushing a number. The only time I get to speak to an actual human is the one that who wants to sell me an extended warranty on my car.
More than 700 individuals have been charged in connection with the riot in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6, 2021. Here’s my question: how many rioters have been charged in connection with the more than 570 riots in major cities across the U.S. in 2021, where more than twenty lives were lost and billions of dollars in property damaged?
The first domestic cow in 70 years was killed by our wolf pack in Jackson County. Wolves are pretty canny hunters. So will the pack next time try and run down an alert, speedy elk, or a slow, inattentive cow? Thank you, Gov. Polis, for pushing this calamity on Western Colorado.
So here’s a Mideastern sheik on the OPEC board of directors. Joe Biden’s minion comes in and asks, “Hey, would guys produce more oil? Sheik: “Why would we do that?” Minion: “So the price of gasoline in the U.S. will go down.” Sheik: “Again I ask, why would WE do that?” Minion: “Because we’re friends.” Sheik: “But we would get less money per barrel of oil.” Minion: “You’re already getting more per barrel because we’ve shut down production.” Sheik: “Right, we all thought that was pretty stupid on your part.” Minion: “Don’t you want a cleaner planet?” Sheik: “Not at the moment. We’re making too much money.” Minion: “But we protect you from hostile nations.” Sheik: “Anybody who needs oil will protect us.” Minion: “I thought we were friends.” Sheik: “You thought this through before you took these actions to cut your oil production?” Minion: “We weren’t recruited to think; hiring is based on ethnicity and equity.” Sheik: “Well, we hope your president stays in office forever. ‘Don’t go Brandon,’ we say.”
So Joe Biden backed a $5 trillion bill and said it was “paid for.” But that failed, so he backed a $2 trillion bill that he also said was “paid for.” Shouldn’t we be $3 trillion ahead on this deal?
If you need a lesson on Karma, here it is: In 2017, anti-gun activist Alec Baldwin posted a derisive tweet mocking a police officer who had “wrongfully” shot an individual. “I wonder how it must feel to ‘wrongfully’ kill someone,” Baldwin tweeted. Well, Alec, now you know. Now you know.
And now for the paperwork: Just for you people who don’t believe over-regulation by the government doesn’t directly raise costs for you the consumer, a huge reason for the supply chain problems the U.S. currently is experiencing is lack of truck drivers to move the contents of those containers stuck in L.A. across the country. There are 60,000 openings for truck drivers in the U.S. A driving school in southern California can train a big truck driver in six weeks. Upon graduation, that newly-trained driver will have to wait TWO MONTHS at least to get a CDL from the state of California.
Stop work order: White House press secretary Jen Psaki said this morning that a Presidential Task Force has been working on the international and national supply and transportation problems for months now. But the situation still keeps getting worse, with more than sixty container ships with well over 600,000 containers stuck at the Port of Los Angeles. If this hasn’t been fixed by he Presidential Task Force by now, maybe we should tell them to stop working on it and see what happens.
Victory is Ours … I think: When asked on July 8, 2021, if a Taliban victory in Afghanistan was inevitable, President Biden said no, it was not. Why not, he was asked. “Because you — the Afghan troops have 300,000 well-equipped — as well-equipped as any army in the world — and an air force against something like 75,000 Taliban. It is not inevitable,” he said. I should note that President Biden is advised (managed?) by a bevy of “woke” people. God help us.
Make like a Tree: The stupid meter in Washington, D.C., keeps setting new records. Joe Biden’s infrastructure bill includes a provision for large-scale carbon removal technologies to filter carbon-dioxide from the air. Do they not know plants do that for free?
Skirting the Issue: While playing golf, a friend asked why I didn’t use the forward tees (also known as the senior tees, or geezer tees) because the rules entitled me to use those tees. I replied, “I don’t use those tees for the same reason I don’t move to Connecticut, put on a skirt, and play in women’s leagues.”
Athletic Compositions: Several athletes at the Olympic Games in Japan are protesting for various reasons. One asked what’s wrong with drawing attention to racial inequality in the world? Well, nothing. But what if an athlete stood up and protested in the name of racial superiority, or eugenics to weed out certain racial subtypes, or systematic murder of children with severe defects? Oh, now we’re editing what protests are okay and what aren’t. Or can an athlete on the medal stand and suddenly endorse a political candidate or gluten-free Cheerios? Just run the race or throw the hammer. Save the protests for when you come home.
A walk-off, Homer: Democrat House members in Texas walked off the job this week because they couldn’t defeat a bill that would revise voting procedures in the state, kind of what Democrats in Wisconsin did several years ago. It’s a maneuver similar to “If I can’t have my way, I’ll hold my breath until I do get my way” often used in kindergarten. The Democrats had to leave Texas to make this work, and did so in buses pre-supplied with cases of beer before transferring to private aircraft. They are now showing off in Washington. Here’s the kicker: they’re all collecting $221 per day in per diem money supplied by Taxes taxpayers while they avoid working. Seems typical of the Democrat agenda – get paid for not working.
You like this? I guess if you believe Joe Biden got 81 million votes, you can also believe he’s got a 52 percent approval rating right now. Excuse me, but 52 percent for a president who wants to raise your taxes, wants to raise taxes on small businesses, eliminated 11,000 jobs with the stroke of a pen, thinks there’s a race called Latinex, ignores the thousands illegally crossing the southern border, wants to fight crime by seizing guns, thinks nothing of adding $6 trillion in spending to the national debt, got mocked by Kim Jong-un’s sister, can’t get two American ex-marines out of Russian jails, doesn’t support our ally Israel, pays people not to work, and whispers creepily into a microphone during a speech?
Tough Guy? It will be easy to see how effective President Joe Biden was in his “discussion” with Russia’s Vladimir Putin. In the near future, will imprisoned ex-marines Trevor Reed and Paul Whelan be released from Russian jails? Will cyber attacks from hackers based in Russia stop? It’s a test, Joe. We’ll all be able to see if you succeeded or didn’t.
Ratings Report: I guess if you believe Joe Biden got 81 million votes, you can also believe he’s got a 52 percent approval rating right now. Excuse me, but 52 percent for a president who wants to raise your taxes, wants to raise taxes on your small businesses, eliminated 11,000 jobs with the stroke of a pen, thinks there’s a race called Latinex, ignores the thousands illegally crossing the southern border, wants to fight crime by seizing guns, thinks nothing of adding $6 trillion in spending to the national debt, got mocked by Kim Jong-un’s sister, can’t get two American ex-marines out of Russian jails, doesn’t support our ally Israel, pays people not to work, and whispers creepily into a microphone during a speech?
How To Do It: The Mexican criminal cartels that are trafficking in foreigners wanting to enter the United States are putting wristbands on people that indicate how much the individual paid to cross ($3,000 for Mexicans, $5,000 for Chinese, and $9,000 for Arabs and Russians) and an identification number. The cartels’ ID numbers connect to the individual’s name, phone, address, identification papers (if any), and contacts in the U.S. In other words, the cartels do a better job at recording and regulating human traffic into the U.S. than the U.S. does.
Illegal Tax Cuts: Okay, is this what we wanted? The last “stimulus” bill has a provision in it that makes it AGAINST THE LAW for states to lower taxes as a result of getting stimulus money, even if it’s, say, to cut taxes on small businesses hammered by the COVID-19 pandemic. So we went from one administration that cut taxes and produced the most prosperity in fifty years to one that makes it AGAINST THE LAW to lower taxes. Is that what you all voted for?
Minimum Wage: A friend of mine in Missouri owns a thriving business and needs to hire one hundred new workers, no college degree required. Starting pay (underline “starting”) is $15 per hour, going up to $30 per hour, with benefits. Now remind why we need a national minimum wage of $15 per hour when private industry is offering more? You Democrats in Washington need to get our from behind your armed guards and barricades and find out what’s actually going on in your country.
Money for Nothing: Residents of New York can now make $804 per week not working. National headline: employers are finding it nearly impossible to fill all job openings that they have. Gosh, wonder why? And you know what? Once you start giving people free stuff for any length of time, it’s extremely difficult to take it away. That’s how you create a dependent class, and a guaranteed electorate because as George Bernard Shaw said, “If you rob Peter to pay Paul, you can count on Paul’s support.”
Spilling the Beans: President Biden announced that all American troops will be withdrawn from Afghanistan on Sept. 11 of this year. Okay, any military tactician will tell you that one thing you do not do is tell the enemy what you’re going to do and when you’re going to do it. If I were the Taliban leader, I’d tell the troops just sit back, round up and preserve resources, and wait for the Americans to leave. Then let the historians sum up what we accomplished over twenty years.
See No Evil: The city of Baltimore has decided to make permanent a policy of not prosecuting people for minor offenses, such as drug possession, urinating in public, prostitution, and (unbelievably) trespass. They found that after trying this for a year, the crime rate went down in the city. No kidding. Here’s a way to reduce the crime rate to zero: don’t prosecute people for committing any crimes.
Black and White: I want access to a parallel universe, and here’s why. News is that the individual who tried to ram a car through the fortifications protecting Congress from an unseen horde of angry voters was a black man who admired Louis Farrakahn, a black racist. The news coverage has been fairly tepid, the reaction from Congressional leaders almost non-existent. Now, in the parallel universe, imagine that the perpetrator was a white member of the Proud Boys. That’ll get the old neurons firing, won’t it?
All-Star Voting: So Major League Baseball has decided to move the All-Star game out of Atlanta because baseball players (you know, those unelected, unappointed, non-governmental individuals) don’t like Georgia’s new voting laws. Here’s a question: where are they going go? Not to Delaware, home state of our President, because Delaware has far stricter voting laws than Georgia. I know, I know, President Biden hasn’t mentioned that little anomaly. Maybe they’ll go to California, where they don’t seem to have any restrictions on any kind of voting.
Times Change: So now the Democrats want to abolish the filibuster in the U.S. Senate. Guess who has used the filibuster the most? In the last Congress, the filibuster rule was invoked 328 times, a record. Democrats, who were in the minority, invoked it 327 times. Back in the civili rights era, it was the Democrats invoking the filibuster rule repeatedly to block civil rights for blacks and other minorities. One of the greatest truths of all times is captured in the phrase, “What goes around, comes around.” In 2013 Harry Reid, D-Nevada, threw out the filibuster rule so Democrats could more easily confirm federal judges. The rule change led to the Republicans under President Trump being able to confirm three Supreme Court justices without getting a 60-vote majority for any of them. Now, the Democrats, with the slimmest of majorities in the Senate, want to throw out the filibuster entirely to get truly radical legislation through. Well, what goes around….
Oops: Why they don’t let President Biden out much. In a speech – a speech mind you, where all he has to do is read what is put in front of him – he referred to Kamala Harris as “President Harris.” A portent of things to come, no doubt.
President Pelosi: Wouldn’t it be funny if Kamala Harris, with the connivance of Nancy Pelosi, removed President Biden from office under the 25th Amendment. Then immediately upon Harris taking office, Pelosi had all her minions in the House impeach Harris, convict her in the Senate, and, as third in line for the succession, became President. Just day dreaming.
Dumb headline fo the day: “Will voters reward Democrats for stimulus bill?” Yes, Democrats will. The rest of us realize that only 9 percent of the “stimulus bill” spending had anything to do with the Chinese virus. The rest is a bag of pork and bailouts and gifts that added $2 trillion to the national debt. To put that in prospective, $2 trillion equals half the the total revenue the U.S. government collects in AN ENTIRE YEAR.
Silver and Lead: Well, I would say the U.S. Congress, but it’s actually only the Democrats in the U.S. Congress, just added $2 trillion to the national debt that has gone from $23 trillion in February, 2020, to $28 trillion now. That $5 trillion in additional borrowed money will cost taxpayers $100 billion a year in debt service – money that will not go to roads, bridges, tanks, welfare, education, or any other useful purpose. Or, the federal government will just print more money and trigger inflation. What am I going to do with my measly $1,400 payment? Buy bulk silver and bullets.
Who’s the Boss: Okay, the other day, President Joe Biden is reading some statement from his prepared text on the teleprompter, and finishes. Someone off camera asks, “Can I ask you a question?” The President responds, “Sure, I’ll answer some questions, whatever you want me to do.” And the transmission is immediately cut off. I want to know who has the authority in this country to tell the President to shut up? Who’s behind the throne? Who’s pulling the strings?
Ask Not: New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo held a press conference yesterday where he apologized 17 times for his alleged sexual harassment of employees, then took questions. Not one question was asked regarding his executive order that sent 9,000 elderly people to their deaths in nursing homes. What the hell is wrong with the Mainstream News Media?
Small Business Relief: Washington, get a clue. You have $1 trillion unspent from the last China Virus relief bill. Unspent. If you divided that $1 trillion up among the 549,000 small businesses in the U.S. with less than one hundred employees, each business would get $1,824,817. Or would that be too simple for you?
Chinese Checkers: If any of you actually were wondering what our relationship with China would be under President Biden, a top official of the Chinese Communist Party recently explained, in public, what the U.S. can and cannot do. Yang Jeichi in a speech on Feb. 1, 2021, warned the Biden administration not to cross certain “red lines.” He told the U.S. not to interfere in the affairs of Hong Kong, Tibet, or the Uygher region of western China, and to accept China’s claims to Taiwan. Quite a change from their attitude in dealing with President Trump.
This Stinks: “Bill Gates: Rich nations should move to 100 percent synthetic beef.” Well, first of all, why just rich nations? If chemical-and-kale beef substitute is good for you, why shouldn’t poor nations get it too? But I think this has to do with cow farts and climate change than actual food preferences. My question is: where was climate change when millions upon millions of farting buffalo, elk, and deer roamed across America?
Color Coded: So President Biden has now decreed that we shall not use the words “Chinese Virus” for the COVID-19 plague that can from China. Next on his list will be a decree to expunge the words “Black Plague” or “Black Death” from all history books because people might think it came from black people. Same with Yellow Fever. Next on the list will be an order to change the name of the main character in the Disney classic Snow White. She will now be known as Snow Beige.
But He’s Not There: I hear that the Democrats in the House on Monday will be impeaching a brontosaurus in the White House. You say there isn’t a brontosaurus in the White House? Well, neither is there a Trump in the White House.
Where’d We Go Wrong: President Biden signed another decree (No. 45, I think) this morning. This one orders all U.S. governmental agencies to focus on fighting climate change. One of the guys in charge of this is John Kerry, who curiously said during the press conference that 90 percent of the things that adversely affect the world’s climate come from countries other than the United States. We have in fact cut carbon emissions more than any other country that signed on to the Paris accords. So why would we do anything different than what we’re now doing?
Marching Orders: The Democrats have decided they need to keep 5,000 National Guard troops in Washington, D.C., until March. Why? They brought 25,000 troops into Washington to provide protection for an inauguration, then forgot that troops need a place to sleep and take a piss. Now what are they going to do with these dedicated men and women? Hey news media, what are the rules of engagement given to these troops? I’d think your crack investigative reporters would want to find that out? We’d all like to know.
Communication Breakdown: Has it occurred to anyone that Twitter and Facebook closing the accounts of a sitting President would be comparable to telling John F. Kennedy that he couldn’t use the Postal Service anymore, or Franklin Delano Roosevelt that he could not have access to the radio? Would the people of America have allowed that back then?
There Should Be Limits: I am all for term limits at the federal level. I think they should be twelve years in the House, and twelve years in the Senate. That way, a dedicated public servant could serve twenty-four years in Congress. If you can’t get anything significant done in twenty-four years, you’re Joe Biden.
Story Idea: Our Congress approved, in that gigantic spending bill, $10 million for “gender studies” in Pakistan, a Muslim country that relegates women to secondary status in law and in practice. It would be very interesting to see where that money goes. Maybe some young, enterprising (and honest) young journalist will follow that money. But I doubt it.
Book Mark: I wonder how many people in Washington, D.C., possibly the most corrupt place on earth, are shaking in their boots about the book Donald Trump is sure to write after leaving the White House.
